Christmas Carol Chaos - Sounds Like Fun!

Type: Team game
Number: Any number really, teams do not need even numbers
Winner: Team that figures out all 5 of their Christmas carols first

How to play: Divide group into teams. Each team sends one person up
to the Game Master who gives them the name of a Xmas carol. Person returns to group and, in the manner of Pictionary, tries to get the group to guess the name of the carol by DRAWING ONLY. As soon as the group knows the song, they must sing it as loud as they can. After singing, they send a new person for another song. Play continues until one group completes all five songs.

Hints: Make sure your group is well warmed up or they won't want to
sing. Also make the carols easy ones.
Items needed: Pen & Paper for each team. If your team is very large,
you may need a chalkboard, dry Erase board or big sheet of butcher paper on the wall so everyone can see.

Gift Giving Game - Great for Christmas Parties and Exchanges

Everyone brings a gift to the party, this is fun for gift exchanges during the holidays. TO BEGIN: Everyone stands in a circle holding the gift he/she brought to the party. Someone reads the story, every time the word RIGHT is read, everybody passes his gift to the right. Every time the word LEFT is read, gifts are passed to the left. The gift that each person is holding at the end of the story is the gift he keeps.

Story Example:
The Right Family Christmas Story Christmas was almost here and Mother RIGHT was finishing the Christmas baking. Father RIGHT, Susie RIGHT, and Billy RIGHT returned from their last minute Christmas errands. "There's not much LEFT to be done," said Father RIGHT as he came into the kitchen. "Did you leave the basket of food at Church?" asked Mother RIGHT? "I LEFT it RIGHT where you told me to," said Billy RIGHT." "I don't have any money LEFT." The hall telephone rang, and Susie RIGHT LEFT to answer it. She rushed back and told the family, "Aunt Tillie RIGHT LEFT a package for us RIGHT on Grandma RIGHT'S porch. I'll go over there RIGHT now and get it," she said as she LEFT in a rush. Father RIGHT LEFT the kitchen and brought in the Christmas Tree. By the time Susie RIGHT returned, Mother RIGHT, Father RIGHT, and Billy RIGHT had begun trimming the tree. The entire RIGHT family sang carols as they finished the decorating. Then they LEFT all the presents arranged under the tree and went to bed, hoping they had selected the RIGHT gifts for their family. Now I hope you have the RIGHT present for yourself, because that's all that's LEFT of our story, except to wish you a Merry Christmas, isn't that RIGHT?

Gift Wrap Game

What you will need :

Gift items, wrapping paper, tape, music - that can be turned on and off.
Wrap each gift item in several layers of paper (the number of layers depends on how long you want the game to last)
Give your group / groups a gift and tell them when you turn on the music to pass the gift , ( like in the game hot potato) when you turn off the music who ever has the gift gets to take off ONE layer of paper, continue this until the last layer of paper is taken off ,and whoever has the gift unwrapped gets to keep it.

Great for schools, small groups or rows of children. The kids love it ! The gifts don't have to cost a lot just something that they like.

Sock Guessing Game

You take a new pair of thick thermal socks. You know the gray ones that hunters use in the winter. Then you put objects, that you see or use around Christmas time, into the socks. Make sure you put the same things in each sock. Things like holly, scotch tape, ornament, pine cone, etc. Make sure you put about 20 to 25 different objects in. Tie a ribbon or rope around the opening to make sure nobody peeks. Give everyone a piece of paper and pass the socks around at your party and tell them how many objects there are in the sock and have them write down all they can feel. Two socks just makes the game go a little faster. The person that guesses the most objects is the winner.

Pin The Nose on the Reindeer

Holiday variation of Pin the tail on the Donkey. Create a picture of a reindeer's head. You can draw it or use construction paper, make sure you draw an outline for the nose, but don't complete it. You'll want the picture to go on a wall or flat surface. You'll also need to make noses to be placed on the picture. Red or black work great, or use different colors for each child so you can tell who placed which one where or just number the noses.

To play: Each child will be given a nose, you can use tape on one side of the nose so it sticks to the board. Blindfold the who's turn it is and spin them around 3-5 times, (so there a little dizzy) now point them in the direction of the reindeer (2-3 feet in front of it) and tell them to walk forward and place the nose on the reindeer. The one closest to the actual reindeer noses wins!

Pass The Bow (or apple or whatever fits the occasion)

Type: Team game
Number: Any number, about 6-15 players per team
Winner: Team that passes 6 bows down and back first
How to play: Have the teams line up side by side, either sitting or standing next to each other (they could hold hands if they wanted to). At one end of
the line, place the six Christmas bows (or apples). With their left hand have each player grab the right wrist of the person to their right. On the mark, teams pass all the bows down and back again. If a bow falls, players must retrieve while still holding on. The chain must not be broken!
Items needed: 6 objects for each team.

Christmas Fun - Twelve Days of Christmas

Great for larger offices over 30. Group everyone into 12 teams, it can be random or have people count off from 1-12. Then group the teams together and give each one a verse of the twelve days of Christmas. Each team was responsible for singing one verse of the song. As you know, the song repeats itself, with a new verse added each time. The best part of all is that as the teams sing their verse, they are to act out the verse (i.e. eight maids a milking, six geese a laying). It is hilarious to see the interpretations that each group had for what motions should be acted out. Each team should be allowed to gather together at first to determine what motions they plan to do. This game seems simple, but it is a bonafide riot!

Note: If you don't have a Santa outfit, make a list of Holiday items that guests can search for and the first ones to find them wins and ornament of a small gift.  The theme of your party can determine the list of items.

Where are Santa Clothes?
Get a Santa outfit about the size of a beanie baby or so and Hide the various
items, jacket, pants, cap, etc... throughout your holiday decorating, You may want to even take a photo of Santa before he lost his clothes, so that everyone has an idea of what to look for.

Examples of place to hide Santa's clothes

Santa jacket On the silo of my barn in the Christmas village I put out
Santa pants On a small tree
Santa belt Use to hang an ornament on a different tree
Boots Standing amongst candles or small Christmas statues
Bag In the corner of my nativity set up
Mittens Hanging around a small stuffed toy
Hat On a small statue or stuffed toy

Everyone is given a pad and pen when they enter (or you can wait until everyone arrives to begin) and told to look through out the decorating to find Santa's clothes. When they find Santa's clothes they need to write it down and prizes can be given to the first 5 people who get everything correct. This is a way of getting everyone to see all your decorating and different stuff through out the party area.
