    The seventh inning stretch was started when President Taft stood up in the middle of the seventh inning to stretch. All the fans at the game followed, standing at their seats. This is how it started. I am not sure of the teams or the exact date, but this should get you started.

    In response to Alison's question regarding the most innings played in a single game, on May 1, 1920, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Boston Braves played to a 1-1 tie. The game took 26 innings before being ended!

    Here is some info on the career of Bill Dinneen, He pitched for 12 seasons, with a career record of 170 wins, 177 losses, a career 3.01 ERA and 306 career complete games. He also pitched in the first World Series in 1903, his record in the World Series was 3 wins, 1 loss and a 2.06 ERA.
