IEEE CHICAGO/ROCKFORD CONSULTANTS' NETWORK

The Chicago/Rockford IEEE Consultants' Network will be meeting on

Monday, March 31, 2008, from 7:30 - 9:15 PM
at the Palatine Public Library,
700 North Court, Palatine, IL 847-358-1216.

PROGRAM TOPIC

"Small Business Retirement Plans" by David Burke.

David Burke, a regional consultant for Fidelity Investments, will provide us information on various options that a self-employed person or a small business owner has for retirement planning. David provides on site financial education to organizations throughout the greater Chicago area on behalf of Fidelity Investor Centers. He will give us the highlights of available government approved programs that allow those self-employed and small business owners to shelter income and build up a retirement nest egg. His is an expert is in helping investors understand their income and Investment needs and the strategies to address th! em. His presentation will include time to answer our questions.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Mr. Burke graduated from University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Thomas More College with a Master of Business Administration. He has successfully completed the Series 7, 63, 66 examinations and holds Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Indiana insurance licenses. He has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.


MEETING LOCATION
Meetings are generally held on the last Monday of odd-numbered months.  Preceding the meeting we get together for an optional group dinner. Members and non-members are invited to both the meeting and the dinner   (Reservations are NOT required).  We meet for dinner at 6:15 PM at Bakers Square, 270 E. Northwest Highway (corner of North Court), just south of the library.  We order individually from the menu, and plan to finish dinner by 7:20 PM.

See you on March 31, 2008 and bring consultants and those who aspire to be consultants for a pleasant and informative evening of networking.  Don't forget to bring business cards.

Attendance at this meeting will earn 1.0 PDH.

(at the corner of North Court St. just south of the library)

TIME:

                        (Order off the menu – reservations not required)

NETWORK INFORMATION:
Meetings are usually held on the last Monday of odd-numbered months.
The objective of the Network is:
* To foster and promote the interests of its members with respect to the business of providing professional and technical consulting services.
* To maintain, publish and distribute a directory of the members and the consulting services offered by each.
* To arrange for and provide technical and management talks, tutorials, and special seminars and workshops on subjects of interest to members professional development.
* To provide a networking forum for personal interaction through meetings, social functions and other events.
* To publicize the contribution to society by its members.
* To collect and distribute charitable funds on a voluntary basis, consistent with these objectives.
 

Being a director of a professional organization or a committee chair is a way to serve, learn and enhance your professional standing. We are looking for director and chair candidates, speak to a board member if you have an interest.

Do you know that networking is responsible for most professional jobs? Do a friend a favor, invite him/her to a meeting. There is no admission fee. Don’t forget to bring business cards for networking! Attendees may earn 1 PDH.

Future meetings: May 19, July, Sept. and Nov. 2008 .  Exact dates in the Palatine Library's new fiscal year (July to June) not yet available.
